White Out

Got out for about 1 1/2 hours before the snow came down...It was a white out! My Friend K picked me up at noon and we headed for the big hill where we have been finding Silver. We both managed a Merc (mine 1939), and I also dug a cool .925 Jaguar Ring with what may be Emeralds for the eyes. I also dug a 1957 Nickel and 3 wheaties (1917, 19, and 37). Clad total for today was $1.47...May be the end of the easy digs for us here in CNY.

A Target Rich Environment

Went to another Syracuse area park Saturday with a bit of history. Quite a few Silvers have been found here, but not so much today. Mostly clad, but I did get a few goodies. Also on Friday my friend K and I hit an old mill site out West of me. It was there that I found the Flat button back-marked "Rich Orange Standard Guilt" I believe this is a common Early 1800s Civillian button.
Saturdays finds produced most of the clad (about 95% of it). I also found a Tex-A-Toy 10 cent play coin from 1954, a 1920 (I think) Buffalo Nickel, a 1937 Buffalo Nickel, a 1942 War (35% Silver) Nickel, and 1925, 30, 38, 39, 40 and 42 Wheat Cents. Found $7.25 in clad...Look at all them Quarters!

My oldest Silver coin to date found Thursday Afternoon

Went to a park we have been hitting for the last year and a half. This is one of the oldest if not "the" oldest park in the city of Syracuse. First good target of the day was a 1944D Mercury Dime. Next was my oldest silver coin to date, a 1886 Canadian Dime. Finally, just before dark I found the 1936 Mercury Dime and the 1946 Wheat Cent.  I am still stoked.
The silver always comes out dark in this park...Must be the heavy fertilizers used.
